The shimmer in Pure Creation isn’t as obvious as in Genuine Treasure but it’s not at all lacking in pigmentation. It also makes a good base if you happen to have any blue or teal pigments. Paired with most blue powder eyeshadows, Pure Creation will intensify the colours. I wore it with MAC’s Aquadisiac (permanent range) and Glamora Castle (Tartan Tales 2010 Collection). I love the ultra creaminess of this shade and the fact that the colour is intense enough to be worn on its own. Pure Creation is a medium frosty teal-blue which is less sheer than Genuine Treasure. With Paint Pots, there’s no need to use an eyeshadow primer. Genuine Treasure also serves as an ideal base for other darker tone eyeshadows but I think it matches Gilt to perfection. The creaminess of Genuine Treasure makes it easy to apply evenly.
I have no qualms about using Genuine Treasure together with Gilt for a day look. I guess it’s a matter of personal preference. I do like the bling-bling factor especially in black gold eyeshadows. There is a fair bit of gold shimmer/sparkle in Genuine Treasure. To me, Genuine Treasure is the lighter version of Gilt. Of course, all the Paint Pot colours are buildable. Genuine Treasure is smooth and appears to be quite sheer. It’s simply spectacular and it has all the elements that appeal to me. Gilt By Association is my all-time favourite MAC eyeshadow because it is antique gold with blac/gold/olive reflects and such shimmer! No other eyeshadow is necessary for pairing with Gilt By Association.
When I first saw Genuine Treasure online some time ago, I had a feeling it’s be the Paint Pot dupe of Gilt By Assocation Mineralize Eyeshadow which came out in the Style Black Collection. These are 3 of the 8 Paint Pots available in the upcoming Posh Paradise Collection:. They aren’t the easiest cream eyeshadows to use as they can appear uneven if not properly blended but the advantage of using them is that they really don’t budge, have fantastic staying power and make powder eyeshadows last all day without fading in the least. With Paint Pots, you have to blend quickly and use them up as soon as you can as they tend to dry up fast. The one and only MAC Paint Pot I had before these 3 came along was Rubenesque which makes a good base for natural shade powder eyeshadows. The Paint Pots really impressed me too! The color selection is a little odd but I love that MAC has a shade for everyone! Warm, cool, shimmery or matte you’re bound to find the cream shadow you’ve been looking for.Clockwise from top – Imaginary, Genuine Treasure, Pure Creation L to R – Imaginary, Pure Creation, Genuine Treasure Incredibly impressive if you have constantly watering allergy eyes. As you can see, each liner is still perfectly in tact without even a smudge. These pencils are super creamy, pigmented and last like no other! I actually took this swatch picture after I’ve let them sit for a while AND washed my hands.
However, I don’t think too many liners can compare to the Pro Longwear formula. All four colors are must haves (in my opinion) but because they’re essential colors they’re pretty dupable. Probably because the formula is so amazing! The eyeliners probably had the most basic shade range in the collection. The color selection seemed a bit underwhelming but it grew on me. The fall Pro Longwear collection features: There are a few face products tossed in the mix but the focus is definitely on the eyes! There are some repromotes but there’s a lot of new colors too. This summer was sunny and fun but the autumn breeze is quickly approaching! Can you believe it’s September already? I sure can with all these hot, new fall releases! MAC is back with their Pro Longwear collection this month offering some new shades to the ever so popular line.
